Fr. Anthony Coci
2020-2021 Guest Priest
Fr. Anthony Coci is a native of Toledo, OH and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2005.
He then spent the next 4 years studying finance and philosophy at Loyola University Chicago with the Jesuits where he graduated in 2008.
From there he went on to work in the financial world for a few years before entering seminary at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West n Cincinnati, where he graduated in 2017.
Following his ordination to the priesthood, he served as Parochial Vicar of both St. Mary's in Tiffin and St. Pius X in Sycamore.
Additionally, he served as Priest Leader of Calvert Catholic High School from 2017 to 2019.
As of 2020, Fr. Anthony is the Priest Leader of Cardinal Stritch High School & Academy and Pastor of St. Jerome in Walbridge, OH.
He enjoys golfing, bow hunting, road biking, playing Euchre, and enjoying time with family and friends. Fr. Anthony's favorite saints are St. Joseph, St. Anthony of the Desert, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Benedict, St. John Chrysostom, St. Augustine, and the North American Martyrs.

Fr. Phil Smith
2019 Guest Priest
Father Philip was born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio where his home parish was St. Joseph Parish. After attending Calvert Catholic schools in Tiffin he attended Franciscan University of Steubenville where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Philosophy, Theology and Catechetics. He then completed his seminary formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, while earning a Baccellierato in Theology (STB) from the Pontifical Gregorian University.
Father Phil was ordained a priest for service to the Diocese of Toledo on June 25, 2011. Following his ordination, he provided summer pastoral ministry at Mother of Sorrows Parish at Put In Bay and St. Michael Parish at Kelleys Island. He then returned to Rome where he completed a Licentiate (STL) in Theology of Marriage and Family at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. Father Phil received the 2012 Most Outstanding Student award at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for his thesis: “Filiation in Ratzinger: Towards an Understanding of the Filial Meaning of the Body”.
Father Phil became associate pastor at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in West Toledo and Corpus Christi University Parish at The University of Toledo on July 2, 2012 and continued in that position until June 30, 2017. During those years Father Phil also served as Director of the Christian Leadership Program at The University of Toledo.
On July 1, 2017 Father Phil became the Director of the Office for Diocesan Priestly Vocations. In this role he assists Bishop Daniel Thomas in mentoring the seminarians of the Diocese of Toledo and in encouraging young men throughout the Diocese of Toledo to consider answering God’s call to priestly ministry.
